This comprehensive interior design project is part of a building permission plan for the Grassalkovich Castle. We worked for a team of architects. We created an environment for the given functions and divided the concept into three parts based on the history and the heritage of the castle: firstly where it was possible, we reconstructed the original interior. Secondly we created a series of rooms and saloons, that show a reinterpreted baroque interior where we used symmetry, distortion, mirror-effects, illusion, transition, contrast and scene-like structures. Thirdly, as the major part of the history of the castle, we used the atmosphere and interpretation of the time of the Hatvany family in the restaurant, café and library areas.
