the Landscape Garden
Our playground proposal aims to create a landscape to be discovered. It is a shrinked version of an artificial, yet organic forest. We transformed the donated land into the land of discovery and observation, because we believe that this quality is the most important to have in life, and to be shown to children. If you are an enquirer person, your knowledge, opinion, judgment and mind is on constant evolution. The project uses the ‘‘2 Bamboo Pole, as main construction element. With this material, we create wide range of different spaces that shows complexity and variability to children. The forest then gets to grow, and new nature, materials start to appear: we chose 3’‘ Eucalyptus Logs, Tires and Leaf Roof Panels as main general.
The landscape is sectioned to four parts: the Rubber Islands, the Eucalyptus Dunes, the Bamboo Forest and the Bamboo Spatial Labyrinth. Between these parts, we created the Glade and the Pathway. The deeper a child makes its way to the Forest, the more undefined plays the child finds.
